From a stationery supplier in 2016 to an integrated supply and printing company serving schools, universities and corporate offices nationwide.
Built to Fix a Fragmented Buy
Compubooks began in 2016 with a straightforward proposition: South African institutions were buying supplies from too many vendors, each with separate accounts, lead times and delivery schedules. The administrative cost of that fragmentation fell on procurement officers.
The answer was to widen what one supplier could credibly deliver. Stationery came first, then textbooks, technology, laboratory equipment, furniture and sport. Each category was added only once we could supply it properly rather than simply list it.
Our own brand and printing followed. Today Compubooks supplies its in-house Thuto Stationery range, prints educational and corporate material, imports through OEM partnerships and distributes to all nine provinces.

2016
Compubooks is founded
Levi Mnguni establishes Compubooks (Pty) Ltd as an educational stationery supplier, drawing on more than a decade of experience in institutional supply.
Growth
Expansion beyond stationery
The range widens into textbooks, ICT, laboratory apparatus, furniture, sport and early learning, so institutions can consolidate categories under one account.
Thuto
Our own stationery brand
Compubooks launches Thuto Stationery, its in-house brand of exercise books, counter books and educational stationery.
Printing
Commercial print capability
Commercial and educational printing is added, covering workbooks, learner support material, examination papers and secure document production.
National
Nationwide distribution
Warehousing and logistics scale to serve all nine provinces from the Pretoria base, supporting large multi-site rollouts.
